The GOTS offers a manifold and rich programme of continuing education. One focus of the GOTS is the promotion of sport medical symposia for trainees and the interdisciplinary education. Another focus is the training in competition medicine. One of the aims of the GOTS is to mediate knowledge in sports medicine and traumatology in a precise and focused form, which is necessary for completion of the training.

The development of all aspects in sport medicine is connected with the improvement of theoretical and practical knowledge. Knowledge in sports medicine and sports science has to be spread further. The highly developed conservative and operative treatment methods of sport injuries have to be known to prevent early and permanent damage by use of competent treatment.

The GOTS manual addresses not only sport orthopaedics but also specialists in other fields and sport therapists, physiotherapists, trainers and athletes. The GOTS manual is the source and the starting point and it is planned to permanently improve and supplement the manual. Actual information for diagnosis and therapy are published in our journal „Sportorthopädie - Sporttraumatologie“. New impulses, suggestions, and additions are welcome.
