The GOTS offers a manifold and rich program of continuing education. One focus of the GOTS is the promotion of sport medical symposia for trainees and the interdisciplinary education. Another focus is the training in competition medicine. One of the aims of the GOTS is to mediate knowledge in sports medicine and traumatology in a precise and focused form, which is necessary for completion of the medical training.
The development of all aspects in sport medicine is connected with the improvement of theoretical and practical knowledge. Knowledge in sports medicine and sports science has to be increased and spread further. The highly developed conservative and operative treatment methods of sport injuries have to be become general knowledge to prevent early and permanent damage to our patients/athletes.
The GOTS Manual addresses not only sport orthopaedics but also specialties in other fields such as sport therapists, physiotherapists, trainers and athletes. The GOTS manual is the source and the starting point of our societies attempt to further sports medicine in the community and will be continually improved and updated. New developments in diagnosis and therapy of sports induced injuries is published in our journal „Sportorthopaedie - Sporttraumatologie“. New impulses, suggestions, and additions are always welcome.
